Sticklepath Annual Parish Meeting
Last month the APM explored some important issues affecting the village and surrounding area. We heard that there could be some opportunities to build accessible houses in the Beacon area, with the development of the Community Land Trust. Rob Sewell presented on two important topics which raised support: the need for safer roads and active travel. We hope to progress radical traffic calming measures in cooperation with Devon County Council. We also heard that we own Billy Green and that we intend to create the Sticklepath Moor Nature Reserve. The way we manage the green spaces was enthusiastically discussed whilst refreshments were taken. Views of residents who could not make the meeting are still welcomed, as is the chance to volunteer for working groups to forward the plans.
Moreover, we heard that some of the points raised do require some response from a range of public agencies and levels of local government, and progress on these issues will be reviewed at next year’s Annual Parish Meeting in May 2026.
